The Resource Broker, the UK's first online business marketplace for the exchange of skills and services, has been launched to help businesses in the engineering sector find IT suppliers and outsource their IT requirements more efficiently. Membership is free - businesses simply outline their IT needs at http://www.theresourcebroker.com/ and relevant service providers are alerted and invited to bid to provide the skills or services.
The Resource Broker offers businesses significant time and cost savings as specialist IT skills are increasingly a scarce resource and competition for them is fierce. Three quarters of UK businesses have been forced to delay new product launches because of IT skill shortages and 42 per cent have suffered a rise in operating costs. Conventional ways to meet IT skill and service needs, such as advertising, recruitment agencies, internet searches and word of mouth recommendations, are time consuming, can be expensive, and often produce unsatisfactory results.
Managing director, Steve Christian, commented: "It's never been more important for organisations to be able to efficiently find the IT skills and services they need to maintain a competitive edge. Even without a skills shortage to contend with finding the right suppliers for your business is never easy. The Resource Broker is designed to help UK businesses find appropriate suppliers in the right place, at the right time and for the right price, so our members can focus on their core activities without distraction."
